God full of compassion grant perfect peace in Your sheltering Presence among the holy and the pure, to the souls of the men, women and children of the House of Israel, who were slaughtered and burned in the ghettos and concentration camps of the Shoah. May their memory endure from generation to generation for all time. Master of mercies keep them under Your protecting care in the shadow of Your wings. May they find the peace denied them in this world. May their souls be bound up in the bonds of eternal life. Adonai is now their inheritence. May they rest in peace. And let us say, Amen. |

The Los Angeles-based Museum of Tolerance graciously provided a theatrical print of the 1999 Academy Award winning documentary "The Last Days" for screening at Keneseth Israel on Thursday, April 27th, 2000. Holocaust survivor Renee Firestone, who appeared in "The Last Days," facilitated the post-film discussion. She is the aunt of longtime K.I. member Susan Lehrich. On Friday April 28th, Mrs. Firestone was the guest speaker at Keneseth Israel's Yom Hashoah service and shared her experience of surviving the Holocaust. These pictures were taken that evening. |
