Keneseth Israel inaugurated Project Miklot in the 2000-2001 temple year to teach leadership skills to current and future Temple leaders. Although only Board members attended the pilot program, future programs will be more inclusive. Programs such as leadership, finance, philanthropy, negotiation, and running meetings were held approximately once per month under the overall aegis of Project Miklot creator Dr. Donald Levick.

Rabbi Donald R. Berlin taught the May class on negotiation. Besides having served as K.I.'s rabbi from 1971-76, Rabbi Berlin and Rabbi Feder served together at Baltimore's Temple Oheb Shalom as Senior and Associate Rabbis during the first five years of Rabbi Feder's rabbinate. Rabbi Berlin currently serves as Acting Director, UAHC Mid-Atlantic Council.
