In 2003, K.I.'s Brotherhood added a second Mitzvah Day-Easter Sunday-to its traditional Xmas morning volunteer role. On those days, K.I. volunteers replace janitorial workers at Sacred Heart Hospital so those workers could celebrate their holiday with their families. In addition, other volunteers visited patient to cheer them up.

This year, K.I.'s group consisted of event coordinator Les Sperling, Jack Engleson, Peter Freed, Scott Dimmick, Heather Dubov, Dave Louick, Sharon Knerr, Phyliss Laufer, Mort Parmet, Jerry Nepon, Larry Rafes, Oscar Cherney, Mark Blass and four members of the Sam Hann family.
