Tom McAloon, Brotherhood President

Tom McAloonBrotherhood brings the men of Congregation Keneseth Israel together for fellowship, fun and for social and religious functions. Activities include the annual Chanukah party, Family Fun Days, Bike and Boat trip, indoor Sukkah construction, Mitzvah Day at Sacred Heart Hospital, Sunday morning brunches, Winter dance and trips to see sporting events.

Through our annual Men's Retreat with Rabbi Rob Lennick and our Men's Forums, Brotherhood also creates opportunities for men to explore and celebrate, through study, worship and service, the male Jewish spirit in an atmosphere of fellowship.

We perform numerous other functions as well. More important, we are open to your ideas. We welcome hearing from you. Please share your thoughts and join us in implementing them. Won’t you join us, or if you are a passive member consider becoming an active one?

Brotherhood offers a direct road into the heart of Congregation Keneseth Israel. If you’re new to Temple, Brotherhood can help you to know your congregation and its members faster than any other approach. It provides a warm and welcoming introduction to the KI family. If you’re already a Temple member, Brotherhood can help to strengthen the bonds that tie us all together.

Is your time limited? So is ours. We make sure the time spent with Brotherhood is productive for whatever our individual objectives are. You can too.

Please Support Temple Brotherhood!

K.I.'s Temple Brotherhood is the men's organization which combines fun with Temple service.

Brotherhood sponsors regular Sunday brunches throughout the year. Our members serve also as ushers for both the weekly Shabbat and High Holy Days services, and also special life-cycle events. We sponsor the annual Congregational picnic and erect the indoor Sukkah. We also sponsor trips to local theaters and to area sporting events.

Brotherhood a not-for-profit service organization. Our events are run on a break-even basis, so that we rely solely on our members' dues to support our activities. The more members we have, the more services we can provide to K.I.

Brotherhood meets one Sunday a month at 9:30am; the meeting schedule is shown on the K.I. Bulletin calendar and posted on the Temple's website. After a hard week at work, why not skip out on chores or cranky kids to spend an enjoyable hour or so having a bagels, juice and coffee breakfast with the Brotherhood? It's a fun way to meet new friends and help plan activities to serve K.I., and you can't beat the $2.00 breakfast cost anywhere.

Above all, please become a paying Brotherhood member to support our work.
