Cantor Ellen Sussman is a graduate of Hebrew Union College Institute of Religion. She is the Cantor at Congregation Keneseth Israel in Allentown, Pa. Cantor Sussman received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and her Master of Music Degree from Boston University.

Cantor Sussman is an active participant in Communal activities. She is a Board member of the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley and was involved with the Federation Continuity Partnership.

As an active concertizer she has performed throughout the United States and Europe in secular as well as sacred concerts. Cantor Sussman has also performed opera roles with a number of Regional Opera Companies.

As a board member of the American Conference of Cantors, American Society of Jewish Music and president of the Delaware Valley Cantor’s Council Cantor Sussman contributes to the preservation and vitality of Jewish Music. Cantor Sussman celebrated 25 years in the Cantorate in 2008.

Cantor Sussman is married to attorney David Vaida and has two children, Jeremy Michael and Aliza Shoshana.
