Sisterhood Co-Presidents Melissa Hakim and Teri Krassen Sisterhood's Beautification Fund In honor of Sisterhood's one hundredth birthday, Sisterhood has established the Keneseth Israel 2nd Century Beautification fund. The money from this fund will be used to ensure that Keneseth Israel will not only be a center of Reform Judaism for all who wish to participate, but that our building will be both spiritually and physically beautiful. As an initial contribution Sisterhood is donating $25,000. Sisterhood will also match any contributions made to the fund by December 31, 2006, up to a maximum of $10,000. The initial use of the fund will be to update the social hall. Sisterhood's intention is for this fund to be an ongoing fund, and future projects will be planned. It would not have been possible for Sisterhood to establish this fund had it not been for the support of KI's embership over the years. Sisterhood Gift Shop Stop by the gift shop to see our new merchandise. We have Torah Commentaries and prayer books on sale. The gift shop is open during religious school on Sundays and Wednesdays. Call Nancy Kahn for further assistance. New Sisterhood Fundraiser You can support a young Israeli company as well as our congregation and the Ecumenical Soup Kitchen by taking part in Sisterhood's new fundraiser. Sisterhood is selling sophisticated, reasonably priced beauty products made by the Sea of Life Company in Arad, Israel. You should have received brochures and order forms in the mail. This is an on-going fundraiser so orders can be sent at any time to Francie Eiskowitz, 5664 Stonecroft Lane, Allentown, PA, 18106. More order forms and sample products can be found in the gift shop. Oneg Shabbat Fund Friday evenings following Shabbat Services, Sisterhood's Oneg Shabbat continues the welcoming of Shabbat with a lovely Oneg Shabbat for our congregants. We thank the Bar and Bat Mitzvah families for their contributions to sponsor and co-sponsor the Onegs. As congregants
celebrate other life cycle events throughout the year, there are
always opportunities to be a sponsor or co-sponsor of an Oneg Shabbat
or solely to be a contributor to Sisterhood's Oneg Shabbat Fund.
Your contributions are always welcome and greatly appreciated.
Consider a donation of Chai or any multiple thereof. Contact Debi
Nelson for more information.
